Terrible food and service!

This is going to be very honest. I was disappointed that check-in took forever only to be told my room wasn’t ready but my sister’s room was ready. I came back an hour later and room still wasn’t ready now... it’s 6:00 pm. Finally got a room not on same floor as my sister. My niece lost her over 18 bracelet the second day while doing banana boat excursion and my sister was told it would cost $200 US dollars to replace. She said that was too much and was told to come back to speak to a supervisor. When she went back the man told her to give $100 and she did so he put it in his pocket and gave her a new bracket. This felt very shady. The buffet food was always cold except omelets at breakfast. The food at Mexican was mid and tortilla chips were stale. Steakhouse was mid with steak that was not prepared as ordered. The Japanese restaurant lomo saltado was only good food. Italian restaurant food was terrible including the tiramisu.. I had a massage that was $130 for 50 mins and this did not include use of the spa facilities. The massage was great but disappointing not able to use the pools inside. I speak fluent Spanish and this did not make a big difference in our treatment from servers. Some were rude and some were friendly but almost all were slow! The ocean was really nice the first day there and then the water turned dark brown and smelled horrendous all over the resort so couldn’t go to the beach. The magic show was terrible, the silent disco was just weird, and music overall was lacking especially at the club. Overall, I would not go back to this resort. I’ve been to Punta Cana 4 times now and this was so disappointing considering how much it cost.

From the start we received perfect service in this beautiful resort. Perfect honeymoon. We stayed in a swim up room in block 7 overlooking the pool. However we enjoyed the pool by the sea most days as we...ll. Always plenty of sun-beds to choose from and plenty of shade if needed. The beach/ sea are gorgeous with the seaweed being cleaned away. There is a food truck on the beach with great burgers and hotdogs. Generally we found the food in the speciality restaurants great and the service amazing. We mainly ate breakfast in the main buffet and repetitive but good. Overall we had a fantastic stay and have been pleased with our choice. Punta Cana is definitely a favourite of mine and the Serenade a wonderful hotel.
