Amazing experience and food

We came as a family to grand Velas. The staff were amazing and attentive. I’d like to give a shout out to Domingo who served nearly daily at the poolside bar. He was amazing. The food at this resort is... spectacular. They even have a Michelin one star included in the all inclusive package. All of the restaurants are great. There are many great excursions as well. I would certainly come back

We were unimpressed with the beach and the concierge was nothing like our previous experience at Grand Velas Los Cabos (we were brought treats to our room daily here he checked in each morning but didn't t...ell us about any wine tastings, cocktail classes, etc). There were no fun daily activites for adults (like hat painting, sip and paint, etc. as we've experienced the GV Los Cabos). The pool service was the highlight of our week (Jorge, Dario, Mario, Angel were all fabulous). During our service at Cocina de Autor an entire course was brought out and presented while one guest in our party was using the restroom (this would never happen in a fine dining establishment anywhere else). We found the poolside menu lacking as well as nightly turn down service in comparison to Grand Velas LC as well. We were surprised to see that both teens and kids clubs in Zen and Ambassador were closed at once and each was just set up in a guest room. It would make more sense to close one part and have the other available then vice versa while renovations occur. The teen club had made almost zero effort to make it anything like the amenities usually offered-they had two chairs, one game system, and a chess table. I expected they would moved a pool table, have some board games, music....but it was bleak and our teens refused to go there at all. One of the amenities we pay for is the use of the clubs for our kids at night so we felt this was a large waste of our money. The best meal we had was Lucca. We were told if we went to a presentation about buying nights that we would get $300 resort credit and 4 nights towards another stay and that it was only a 30 minute presentation. One hour later (with a 15% off coupon to only Grand Velas RM and after being told that we shouldn't be surprised that so many amenities were unavailable for the "small amount we paid" (USD$16,000 isn't small). We go to Grand Velas LC in low season and have never experienced such a disappointment. This trip was a massive disappointment for all of us and it was supposed to be an exciting 40th birthday trip for myself and my husband. We will not be returning to Grand Velas RM and after how rude the person trying to sell us a package of nights was when we told him we weren't interested (he immediately stood up, quickly shook my husband's hand, and said "Then we're done here"), we may not return to any GV property. I would highly recommend checking in with the concierge prior to your stay to see what amenities will be available and know that this property doesn't compare to GV Los Cabos if you have already experienced a stay there. I truly hoped we'd be able to recommend this resort and expand our Grand Velas properties, but sadly that is not the case.
