I’ll begin by stating that all of the positive reviews are true! In my opinion, this is an excellent resort for parents used to visiting smaller, adult-only resorts prior to having children. It really gi...ves you the best of both worlds. In trying not to repeat all of the positives, I’m going to focus on some tips: - Zen side does indeed have some bright rooms. Ask for second floor. - Worth bringing your own hair dryer. I took a chance, and wished I had found space in my luggage to take mine from home. (The one in our room was a typical Conair found in many hotels. Though I have read that the Grand Class section has Dyson). - I felt terribly guilty drinking bottled water the entire week. Even in the restaurants, it’s bottled water poured into pitchers served table side. The gym had a water refill station. I’d love to see more refill stations installed in convenient locations around the resort. - Fragrance. For anyone sensitive to fragrance due to migraines, asthma, etc., please be aware of several locations that could be an issue. Ambassador kids club, on-resort shuttle transport, boutiques, bathroom tissue (I know this is common throughout Mexico & Caribbean). I It was necessary for me to take migraine meds all week, and ensure my son carried his inhaler at all times. - My husband and children ended up with cuts on the bottom of their toes, from the tiles in the Zen pool. (However, I didn’t). My older son ended up keeping his water shoes on in the pool. - Speaking of children, we left their potty seat behind due to lack of luggage space. However, the toilet seats were ‘roomier’ than ours at home ??. Our little guy had a meltdown because he was scared he would fall in. Staff were very accommodating in finding us one to use through the week. All of these notes were passed along to resort guest relations, to which I received a personal response. Resort management appears to be very receptive and interested in client feedback. (Should you receive an email request for feedback during your trip and afterwards, consider replying. They really do their best to ensure you enjoy your stay). As mentioned in my review title, we will return! This resort has provided us with a new level of service at a family friendly resort, and has set a very high bar for service. Our children often tell us that they miss the resort, and want to go back. We are trying to decide if we want to revisit Maya again next winter, or experience the Nayarit next. It’s a tough decision; we met so many warm and welcoming staff at this location and would like to see them again! And we really love the Zen section.

Our visit last week was another great experience. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, everything was taken care of by the best, caring staff. My husband and I have been here several times. ...We traveled here in January as a couple and returned last week with our daughter and her family. It's amazing how this resort is so family orientated. The food is delicious! The staff are top notch! The resort grounds are beautiful! We will definitely be returning again.
