Nice location

Loved everything except the constant hard selling. Right at check in comes the hard selling for a $5,000 membership, then every nights the $80 bottles of wine. Less of that please.

Superb hotel and destination

The hotel was the best we've ever visited. Staff are incredible and attentive. Brilliant entertainment team. Food was delicious. Facilities are stunning and so much to do.

Excellent Resort! Best Vacation! Most BEAUTIFUL BEACH in the Maya Riviera!

The resort is stunning! Very clean and Manicured! Upon arrival we greeted with fresh cold wet towels and champagne. After check in we were escorted yo our room and were pleasantly surprised with a happy anniversary banner across our room door, champagne, fruit and a dessert. So very thoughtful!! Concierge Miguel met us at our room, explained some of the room functions and asked if we were hungry. He realized that the restaurant Oceana was going to close in 15 minutes so he walked us to the restaurant as he continued to explain how he was of service to us with anything we needed. This was so appreciated as we had been traveling for hours and were very hungry. This was just the beginning of what we felt was VIP treatment throughout our stay. We visited speak to and his service was top notch. Mrs. Veronica was the sweetest she came and introduced herself and wanted to make sure we were satisfied and if there was anything more she could do for us. She is a very approachable, sweet, kind and genuine person. Portafino has a great Staff! Our experience at Bordeaux was AMAZING. Our waiter Pablo has superb mannerism! We decided to purchase a botltle and enjoy Lobster dinner. Pablo made our nigh! He was very attentive and the service was out of this world. He introduced new appetizers and desserts that were very impressive. Pablo made our night very memorable. Pablo is just an easy going very attentive person that loves his job and cares for his clients. We appreciated his attention to every detail. We met Gabriela at Oceana but saw her almost every morning at World Cafe. I immediately felt connected to her. She is very kind hearted and has a bubbly personality. She is a very attentive employee and went above and beyond to make sure we were always taken care of. Every time I would see her I would give her a hug! She just made me feel welcomed. Gabriela went all out and arranged a parrillada for my husband and I at Oceana and it was delicious! We met the excellent chef Juan! Hats off to him the food was delicious. Itzel was very attentive and waiter Yumar was on top of his game throughout our early dinner at Oceana. We were very grateful Gabriela set this up for us. We felt like royalty. Gabriela has excellent customer service skills and connects with you on levels that make you feel like you are at home. She is a very impressive employee that does her job well but leaves an unforgettable impression on you. Thank you Gabriela for the experience you give travelers. During our relaxing stay we decided to enjoy the beach palapas and the service we received from both Alberto and Rene were incredible from drinks, food and lemons for hubby's beer they were on top of everything. They provided service with a smile and checked back every 10 to 15 minutes. The service was AMAZING. We were able to enjoy the beach in a laid back relaxed atmosphere because of the incredible service these gentlemen provided. They absolutely Rock!! By the way, the BEACH IS SUPER CLEAN & BEAUTIFUL!! On our last night at the resort we decided to have dinner at Himitsu. Our waiter was Francisco upon notifying him it was our last night he asked if we would trust him in selecting the menu for us. We were more than happy to try a surprise menu. Wow! Wow! Wow! so happy we trusted him. Everything he brought out was delicious! What a way to send off your travelers!! The food, appetizers, and desserts were top notch and the service was impeccable. We met the chef Francisco and let him know everything we had was Amazing. Our last night was very memorable. On our plate they wrote Thank you for your visit and our dessert said Have a nice trip. Every detail was thought out and taken care of. We felt our experience was that of Royalty. Both Francisco's waiter and chef were super attentive and made the vibe at Himitsu very enjoyable. Francis, our concierge, sent me the daily activities through what's up the night before. She connected and checked with us daily. She was super friendly and very attentive. Our overall outlook on staff was far exceeded. Secrets Maroma has exemplary staff and they provide excellent service to travelers. We will have fond memories of our vacation for a lifetime. You only get one chance to make a first impression once and Secrets Maroma staff succeeded! Thank you!!

Wanted to ?? it just couldn’t

Recently visited for a relaxing vacation for just the two of us. Our mattress was SO dated and uncomfortable it was absolutely a dealbreaker for us ever returning. The property itself is beautiful with a great beach and nice pools (I will say the bottom of the pool was a tad rough on the feet, especially if participating in volleyball or basketball) we also found the pool lounger cushions to be very dated and in need of replacement. The food here was overall good and the service was great but we did get a crab sandwich from room service that was awful (def not fresh crab at all ??) and we got sea bass one evening that was very underdone so a bit of a turn off. We are in our mid 40’s and found the vibe to be a touch laid back for us compared to other Secrets properties we have been to. We like relevant music to be played at the pool and that was def lacking here. We aren’t huge partiers but we don’t want a retirement home vibe either. We only watched one show but it was the worst of any resort we have ever been to of all the resort classes we’ve stayed at. The spa services we had were amazing and the Bali bed we rented by the pool one day was worth every penny as it was the way more comfortable than our bed in our room. We did PC swim out and honestly I don’t feel PC is worth the upgrade at this property. We preferred the other options for breakfast and lunch here over the additional restaurant and unless your oceanfront here then location in our opinion wasn’t an issue as they were all good. We would have rather spent the money on more spa services or a couple more Bali bed by the pool days. The overall staff service was great and the beach again was beautiful but overall the datedness just left it lacking for us.

Great experience!

Lovely experience, everything was great. Preferred club was definitely worth it and the beach was very clean and well kept. We went for our honeymoon and received lots of great unexpected perks such as romantic beachside dinners and a included spa package!
