Excellent family vacation!

Jessica R on Mar 26, 2025

We had an excellent family vacation here with our two kids ages 16 and 14. This place is getting a renovation later this year (the refresh is needed, but it didn’t stop it from being an amazing vacation). ...The rooms were spacious, and the beds and pillows were super comfortable! No complaints at all! The beach was great, our voice spent most of our time, poolside. There are enough mid teen kids at the resort to have fun pool games like water polo. Fernando was a wonderful, poolside bartender! The rooftop is a great way to get a little more sun if you had an excursion and didn’t get back till later! The most important part, the food was really great! The morning Benedict/omelette chef was wonderful and worked her tail off! MoMo restaurant was by far our favorite, and the service was outstanding! The appetizers and the sashimi slices were excellent!!

Great service and friendly staff

Enjoyed our 6 nights at Beach Palace. Nightly entertainment was great. Sports bar staff were awesome at crafting new drinks and were very personable (Zacarias, Alfredo and Jose). Housekeeping kept our room... spotless (Sergio). Pool/beach bartenders and staff provided great service and were a lot of fun. Staff at the buffet (Tequila) were spot on and very attentive. Enjoyed the rooftop views too!

Scam - Not Work the Money

Casey P on Mar 24, 2025

We booked this hotel for a few nights all inclusive. Before arrival I called to see if we could get into our room early, if not, we were just going to be more prepared upon arrival. They said they would ...have a room ready for us. When we arrived the room was not ready. We arrived at 9:30 a.m. and check in isn't until around 3. We were told if we paid $75 we could upgrade our room and it would be reach before noon. With 2 kids we decided to do that. But it was actually $75.00 per night and the room was not ready until 4. When we went to the front desk at 3 to see what was happening and that we no longer wanted to upgrade because the room wasn't ready, they would not let us change anything and told us no other room would be ready till that evening. It was a total scam. The Manager refused to speak to us as well. They referred us to another desk in the meantime, trying to sell us a timeshare/Palace package. The specialty restaurants, like the Smokehouse were out of steak, except for the 2 steaks that were not included in the all-inclusive or the, the lobster that also had to be paid for was available. For a place that is supposed to be "high-end" I would think you would treat people with respect. I was looking for a new resort chain to vacation with my family but Palace will not be one!

Some good, more bad.

The Good - The family rooms accommodate 3 adults well with one king and a connected double room - great for the snorers. Innovative. - Tavola is excellent the risotto is delicious, the pizzas amazing and G...ayle waited on us 2 nights he was excellent. Loved the fresh decor. - plenty of clean towels which has been an issue at times before - Although slow all elevators were working for a change. - Breakfast is always consistent and good. - AC was cranking - App to reserve restaurants works great after Day 1 but don’t expect to find anything available on arrival day. - Vitamin C facial is great (come early to use steam/sauna and sanctuary room. - Coffee urn in lobby at 6am is so appreciated (a coffee shop at 6am would be a delight) - Nutella banana crepes - The sauna was so nice - it should be its own service to sign up for 20 min at a time. (Steam room was too hot to stay in more than 2 min) The Bad - If you want particular chairs at pool, plan to get downstairs by 5am with personal items. Also don’t be surprised when certain Indian families see no reason why they shouldn’t throw said personal items aside to sit on your clean towels then argue with you later why they were first to claim……. 3 mornings in a row ?? - Momo was renamed from the Wok which used to be our fave but not this time. Pad Thai was really weird sweet taste, just so so food - Gondola is just new name for same old Italian restaurant same menu. Saffron risotto was bad. Salmon ok. - Facial neck massage was a bit too rough - left with twisted neck two days later - Windy and double reds meant no swimming in ocean several days - and pools were freezing - Pools were all far too cold - you could not swim and enjoy the water at the main or rooftops - Abandoned building/resort right next store - what an ugly eyesore. Graffiti all over made us feel unsafe - Tiles in main pool cut feet! Watch it, we saw two people receive first aid ( one really bad injury) - Sargassum was left on beach in piles untouched 3 days which was stinky - First floor ladies room near gift shop smelled like sewage so bad it was gagging - Yes things are run down, ?? the worst was condition of the pools, the big arch over pool (big eyesore) and the dated decor - I hate the Gondola chairs they are filthy and uncomfortable - The beach chairs are grungy, it’s crowded and just depressing down there - it used to be so beautiful they’d rake the sand everyday but no more Most Concerning & Safety - I think it was our 10th or 11th trip there and nope we don’t want to join the vacation club. But of course now to get your points for spa you have to sit down with them on arrival to “activate your points”. It’s not the sales pitch I object to - it’s the deceitful way they pretend it’s a must as part of checkin. Then bust into high pressure selling. And we said no at least 5 times! - on our last night someone opened our door at 12:20 am (floor 5). Woke me out of sound sleep then backed out of room slamming door. At first I was in shock & waking up & I was afraid it was my son sleepwalking and I went running over to door, then looked behind in other double to see him still sleeping. So either the bracelets don’t work keeping guests out of others rooms - or a worker was trying to enter our room at 12:30 am??? It was frightening and pretty much sealed the deal we won’t come back. - A gentleman was cut in the pool on foot - we watched him bleed all over the pool deck as lifeguard attended to him. There was a great deal of blood - and we then watched a female worker use pool water and a bucket and squeegee to move blood 6 feet towards a drain. After, she used a bottle of bio spray and sprayed the path then dumped some into pool water and threw it down. It was not a proper way to decontaminate blood born pathogens properly from a public pool surface. It was disturbing. There must be better protocols to manage situations like this for the safety of guests. - Young ladies doing drugs and smoking pot in the rooftop bathroom was a new one - running around with butts hanging out all week - blame the parents - And what would a vacation be at Palace without another high pressure sales pitch on way out the door. This time by a guy who claimed he didn’t work for palaces but yet had a clipboard with our name, our room numbers, how much we paid a night and our email?? He offered us a “FREE” week voucher; when we said no thank you he chased us thru the hotel lobby to lunch.
