Active Advisories
Following American Hotel & Lodging Association's (AHLA) recent announcement of its "Safe Stay Guest Checklist"—and following medical expert guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19—all Hyatt hotels in the U.S. and Canada will require face coverings within indoor public areas beginning Monday, July 27, for the foreseeable future.
Public areas may include hotel lobbies, meetings and events spaces, restaurants and bars, and fitness centers. Some guests may be exempt from this mandate, including but not limited to guests with medical conditions, guests consuming food or beverages in restaurants, and children under the age of 2.

Excellent location, it has a hallway that connects directly to Grand Central Station (GCS). Facilitates connections to LIRR and subway without the need to go outside and expose to cold weather. The Summit-Vanderbilt is five minutes walk; it can actually be access thru GCS. New York Public Library is like 8 minutes walk. Radio City Music Hall is approximately a 15 minutes walk. Despite the busy area you feel secure. The elevators at the hotel can only be access with the room card key. There is security personnel at the entrance to control who can go to the lobby.
All good apart from a couple things...

Not sure why there are so many bad reviews, all you want is a clean room, clean bed and a shower if you are visiting NYC as a tourist. The hotel is in a very ideal spot being next door to Grand Central Station. Can't fault the room, the cleaner came round every day, clean beds and clean towels everyday. The only things I will give 1 less star for is there was not kettle / tea facilities in the room, the absolute rip off charge of the destination fee, you get a $15 daily market beverage credit but we only used the supermarket twice, you can't get much for $15, you can get 2 bottles of water for $7 each but don't forget the tax on top, and the Wi-Fi is not "high speed" either as most of the time we couldn't get connected to it. However I am pleased with our stay, great location and clean.
