Convenient location right above subway station

I was travelling for work but didn't want to lug my suitcase around in Manhattan. Choose Hyatt Grand Central since I can take LRR train from JFK and go right into this hotel. It took about 30 mins. Got upg...raded to a king suite with globalist status. Breakfast buffet was $57 including 18% service charges, but it was complementary to globalist. Also got $15 to spend in the convenience store next to guest service. The club house lounge was a disappointment, no hot food, just pre-packaged snack. Overall service was good except a cashier at the convenience store.
Great Location, Comfy but otherwise Average

The location is great, near lots of nice restaurants and attractions and with good transport links. The beds are very comfy and the room generally is a comfortable and nice place to be. However, the hote...l has hardly any facilities, the breakfast buffet is $45 plus taxes (so we ate out), the hotel could do with some TLC. Then there's the destination fee which they didn't bother to explain on checkin and is $39.95 per day! Just to get acess to free WiFi and a credit in their shop which is grossly overpriced. Overall we had a great stay in New York but unless the price of this Hyatt was particularly cheap would probably stay elsewhere.
Not a Hyatt Grand, and Not Quite a Hyatt

Though it says Hyatt Grand Central - this is not a Hyatt Grand - just a Hyatt at a station called Grand Central! So it is a nice enough hotel, with a nice lobby, nice bar and the location is excellent. But... attention to detail in design is lacking. When you sit on the toilet, there is barely room to reach where you need to! The sink has no counter or shelf to place your toiletries to get ready. There was no iron in our room, and somehow housekeeping decided to remove the 2nd set of towels after our first night! The room however was clean and quiet, though the HVAC didn't quite keep it cool enough at night. So not quite as well thought out as typical Hyatts are. Slightly disappointed me in the Hyatt brand.
I expected more...

If it’s your first time staying in a hotel in New York, or if you’re on a tight budget, this place can definitely work. The staff is amazing, and the room was overall clean — though the hair dryer was so d...irty I chose not to use it. The room felt outdated, n no amenities, only gym and there wasn’t a cool bar or lounge inside. No views at all from the room. We were on the 25th floor and saw only another ugly building and a road. No balconies. However, the location is perfect if you need easy access to the subway. If you’re just looking for a budget place to sleep, this could be an option. I personally booked too quickly, as part of a flight package, and didn’t expect it to feel so underwhelming — especially after staying in luxury hotels. That’s on me. Also, the interior is mostly black and dark, which felt a bit creepy to me. I will not stay here again.
Great Experience - Comfy, Perfect Location for Tourist in Manhattan

Great hotel for price, location and comfort. Right next to Grand Central train station and walking distance from Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Radio City, and lots of eating venues. The room was very... nice, felt overall upscale. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient too. Good bang for your buck in Manhattan!
