Bed and paid breakfast in a good location.

Junior suite i stayed in was decent with excellent house keeping every daybut no views, Excellent location as well but the downside is the customer facilities mainly meal options, and it is only good for grab and go. If travelling with children it is better to plan your day esp. Meals or will be dissappointed, there are a few redtaurants in grand central amd lot of options near by.My feeling was bed and a paid breakfast at an inflated price and a good location with the name of a premium brand.

I am not one to usually leave a review but we had one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had at this hotel and so I feel obliged to make sure others don’t make the same mistake that we did. The staff on the front desk were unwelcoming and cold. Additional costs amounting to over £500 were demanded of us upon checking in. We were told very abruptly that the airline we booked the hotel with should have made us aware and were offered no further explanation as to what the charges related to other than being told that we must pay the fees in order to check in. I appreciate the airline could have done more to make us aware of the additional charges but the way in which this was communicated to us by staff was incredibly inconsiderate and downright rude. The ‘market’ which we were given $15 a day to spend in was extremely basic, offering a small selection of drinks and some very questionable food options. No tea, coffee or other refreshments in the room and the shower barely worked (we had to call reception as the tap was so stiff it appeared not to be working at first). Not what you would expect of a 4* hotel. Overall, this hotel did not meet our expectations and the rooms need some serious upgrading. The rude and unhelpful staff on the front desk is what lets this hotel down the most though. The location is helpful for the purposes of exploring New York but I would encourage you to explore other hotels within central Manhattan before considering the Hyatt Grand Central.

I stayed on October 25 and have no reservations and check in late night. The front desk guy wasn’t helpful to assist me for check in, he asked me to book by myself through my phone. He did not even smile while taking care of us. The hospitality was below my expectation. He didn’t even ask me if I have a Hyatt member or no. Makes me have to mention that I have a Hyatt member. Unpleasant experience ever for check in
Rude staff, basic amenities, security issues… AVOID!

The city central location is genuinely the only reason to stay at this pale imitation of a hotel. The horrible smells of stale urine on the street outside give a representation more in line with the experience you can expect within. The staff on the front desk are the most arrogant, obnoxious and abrasive hotel staff I have ever encountered. They were beyond rude to not only myself and my wife but also to other guests and young families simply trying to check in. The deluxe king room’s decor was dated and the facilities were basic with a barely functioning shower, a rock hard mattress and an excessively loud air con system. The hotel clearly has security issues given the demands placed on all guests upon reentering the hotel which is concerning. I have been to the U.S many times and have always been blown away by the care, effort and hospitality on display by hotel staff I have encountered. This experience not only put a downer on our holiday but was the single worst accomodation experience I have ever had in any country. Not only would I not recommend the hotel, I would actively advise people to avoid it at all costs.

Arriving to this hotel was at first promising , well at least this is what was expected for apx. $ 450.00 cnd for night . Friendly receptionist promising great room ready even before deadline . I arrived to "promised room" facing dark side of an inner corridor and towels folded appearing to be fresh . I took the shower , grab the towel and another and another with each and every one having either s. stains or p. or whatever was stuck on them . I used my bed sheet to dry up calling the front desk who appologised and promised fresh batch . I had to rush to the meetings and by the time I was back 4 hours later ..expected was new towels to wait ..nup. Same old was there . I called again, receptionist promised they are on their way..1/2 later I walked down to finally confront them ...I was polite but my vice raised high enough foe everybody to hear my concerns . Despite being put off by the attitude of the front desk I drilled them on lousy services ..not to mention room being sub standard and carpet sticking to your feet . best part was an old concierge taking care of my luggage , I tipped him well. Conclusion , I will NEVER EVER go back even if they finally fix their stairs
