The stay was great. The place is absolutely beautiful. My husband and I had such a great time. We were pampered the entire time. The rooms are nice. The romantic dinner was fabulous. The daily buffets for ...breakfast and lunch are excellent. I recommend

I stayed in the first week of May in room 224 which was located steps away from the beach, perfect location. The resort itself is pristine, massive and there is literally everything you need. All the staff... were polite. The food was good, always something you could have and always available. Red wine better than the white but just no. Couple of drain issues in the room is the reason I have given a four for that but the maintenance team were very good and sorted our issue. Highlights of the stay were the bar staff at the crepe/beach bar. Raidon (natural leader and wonderful character), Lisaul ( a wonderfully, welcoming deputy ;), Manuel (friendly and good character). There was a lady working on that bar too who was very friendly and gave manager vibes alongside Raidon but I didn’t catch her name. Santa on the crepe station was also a lovely, friendly and hardworking addition to the team. Also, the pot wash guy was lovely (I didn’t catch his name either). Can’t thank them enough for their hospitality. I also had great experiences with the entertainment team. Joel was too good in this role! Really grounded and nothing was too much to ask. Ismael was a lovely smiling face and Peterson was so friendly. Thank you guys ! I got my excursions from a man from a different company (I believe) that worked on the beach everyday. The buggy trip was super fun and good value for money. I booked a trip to Saona with TUI and there was a catamaran return which was super fun, calm waters and good drinks included.

First of all, this restort has made my trip to Dominican Republic one of the worst trips Ive ever been on in my life. They didnt make any of the extra birthday accommodations happen without us having to co...mplain to them. The room service kept forgetting our food , resulting in us going to sleep hungry the first night. The food in the restaurants were okay, I recommend walking down to a restaurant before ordering room service because they will forget about you. The cleaning staff had a nasty attitude even though our room wasnt that messy, it was just some rose petals on the floor. (The rose petals they used as compensation for them forgetting the surprise the day before) We were constantly told different things from different staff depending on what we looked like for the day. Once were dressed up and looked like money they were super nice. One of the hosts at a restaurant in the main lobby told us we need to wear a dress to be seated. Most importantly, I got a small injury while on the resort and there was no rubbing alcohol or any antiseptic ON THE WHOLE RESORT. Thats a safety violation on so many levels. The “drugstore” was out of alcohol and the front desk was only able to offer a bandaid. Not to mention they said they couldn’t assist us getting to the front gate for excursions but we watched people getting dropped off as we waited up there in the sun, making me think that this is a race thing.

When we first got there our room air was broken. After 2 hours - we requested a new room. They were very accommodating. The Beach Bar tenders are very nice- pool bartenders do not smile. The Lobby barte...nders are kind. Over all it was a great time.

After a 10-hour flight, all we wanted was to settle into our room and relax. Instead, we were checked into a room with a broken bathroom window, stained curtains and bed, dirty towels, a shower that wouldn...’t drain and the bathroom door stained with blood. Only after pushing hard did we get switched to a different room. Shockingly, the worst came a few days later yesterday at 9:30PM, as we were winding down for the night, a cleaner knocked once and immediately tried to enter our room using her keycard—no permission, no time to respond. Her excuse? “Towel inventory.” At 9:30PM without prior notice she would be coming to our room at that time of night. Keep in mind our room had already been cleaned that day. We immediately reported this to reception, only to be mocked and laughed at by Edwin their employee at the information desk, who sarcastically said we should’ve put the “Do Not Disturb” sign if we didn’t want intrusions. He then claimed our “privileged package” includes random room checks—something we were never informed about and is nowhere on the website. When asked for written proof, he said one would be provided, only to later deny its existence. He then continued to further mock us and DARED us to write a negative review and stated he doesn't care and that Catalonia won’t do anything. This experience has left us feeling violated, unsafe, and completely disrespected. No guest should have to question their privacy or security like this. Catalonia Bávaro must take accountability and address this serious breach of guest trust.
