Food was awesome! Mixed drinks could be better. Very good resort overall for families.

Derek M on Mar 08, 2025

A very good family resort, enough stuff to do to keep the kids entertained. Food was great, mixed drinks could be better. The local marina was close to walk to and the swim with dolphins right there as wel...l. The ocean inlet swimming area was the best we’ve ever experienced, didn’t have to worry about rough waters.

Great Hotel

Murray F (Kelowna, Canada) on Mar 07, 2025

Overall this was a very nice hotel right on the beach (We swam every day) Our room was very nice with the only drawback being right above the lobby so it was generally very noisy until much too late in th...e evening. Overall the staff were excellent with the possible exception of the check-in. It was somewhat perfunctory with little information about options.

Disappointing Lack of Disability Accommodations at Hyatt

Pioneer03048274571 on Mar 07, 2025

I want to start by emphasizing that the resort staff were always pleasant and overall, very helpful. This review is not a reflection on them but rather on Hyatt’s failure to implement and enforce proper di...sability policies. I traveled with a family member who is blind and relies on a service dog. Despite the resort being informed in advance, he and his wife faced significant challenges at every meal. Each time they attempted to dine at a restaurant, they were either turned away, given an excuse as to why they couldn’t be seated or made to wait significantly longer than other guests. The issue was not with the staff being rude, they were clearly uncomfortable and unsure of how to handle the situation. They repeatedly stated that dogs were not allowed in the restaurants, demonstrating a clear lack of training on service animal accommodations. The responsibility for this falls entirely on Hyatt and resort management. A globally recognized hotel chain should have policies in place to ensure accessibility for all guests and should adequately train staff to uphold them. This experience was unacceptable and should not happen at a resort that claims to be inclusive. Beyond this issue, the resort itself is showing noticeable wear and tear. We paid for Preferred but found it didn’t provide much additional value. Drinks were consistently watered down, except at the preferred pool bar. Food quality was inconsistent. The Mexican restaurant served great food, but on our second visit, everything arrived cold. Seaside was disappointing, steak was paper-thin, the short rib had good flavor but was served cold, and the mashed potatoes were undercooked and in big chunks. The Asian restaurant was the best overall, and the grill station at the lunch buffet was excellent, with flavorful fish and meat options. Overall, our experience was just okay. The wedding we attended was the highlight of the trip, but Hyatt’s lack of disability accommodations left a lasting negative impression. Accessibility and inclusion should not be an afterthought, especially for a major hotel brand.
