Hotel grounds are beautiful with Palm trees and lush green surrounding. My room faced the bay and checkin was smooth. However for $500 plus for a night it is not worth it. The rooms are comparable to Hampton Inn but at a much higher price. Basically you get the bay view and lush green surrounding for $500 per night. I think it’s way overpriced for the room. I probably will not recommend it or stay here again.

Great location but so dated. The 70’s fake Hawaiian decor is so not cool. Popcorn ceilings, shredded privacy drapes and stained carpets. Charging 4 star rates for 2 star hotel. On the positive side the grounds are beautiful but that’s about it. Find a more modern hotel for the price.

I jut finished making a room reservation for next month (September) with Diante in reservations. He was very helpful in helping me book two different types of rooms but making sure they were close to each other. We are arriving into San Diego for a family Celebration of Life so having him help me make the reservation's, and giving my the pricing, gave me a very reassuring experience.

Diante, thank you for choosing our 10th floor ocean view room in the tower for us. The grounds have lush tropical plants everywhere! Oceana restaurant had a delicious breakfast with a fantastic relaxing view of the Mission Bay on their patio. Even our tropical room furniture was beautiful. We were able to enjoy Mission Bay and walk across the street to the ocean; so great to be able to enjoy both!

Our stay is upcoming and I'll update this review if possible afterward but I would be remiss if I didn't acknowledge Renee in the reservations department for making our booking SO easy. My fiance and I wanted to celebrate her recent graduation from medical school—her first actual relaxing getaway in the last four years—in San Diego. We needed to ensure we were getting the best rate available so we called Catamaran Resort directly and Renee walked us through everything, finding us the best possible rate for our stay, which was much lower than anything else we saw online. We're very excited to come make new memories!
