Toronto's Iconic Hotel

I really don't know how to start. Location is prime in the middle of a cold winter. Across from Union Station is amazing. Front desk is courteous and there are people assisting other guests. As for the ro...oms, we'll that's a different story. The Fairmount luxury double room needs a refresher. Furniture is scratched, size is small and bathroom has bathtubs. The trendy hotels have rainfall showers. Mattresses need replacing. This hotel is for guests willing to upgrade to the gold section. I paid 200.00 a night so I didn't care. But paying 500 in prime season, for sure. Anyways, everything is beautiful and it is an old hotel but with old grandeur tradition. As for the size of the room, that's just the way it's built.

We were privileged guests in Fairmont Gold, giving us access to their spectacular lounge with food and beverage services. Everything was perfect. The wait staff were extremely attentive and kept the plac...e spotless, never allowing any used dishes or glasses to linger on the tables. The food on the buffet was delicious, imaginative and fresh. To our very pleasant surprise, there were singer/guitar players at the Tuesday and Wednesday happy hour services we attended. They were so good, I sincerely would have payed to see them perform! The Fairmont Gold front desk staff were friendly and made us feel very welcomed. A special shout out to Stella our room attendant, who went above and beyond to let us know she was thinking of us. From thoughtful folding of facecloths and placement of our toiletries, to a special handwritten note requesting we let her know if we need anything, you could just tell she is someone who aims to please. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Fairmont Gold for making our stay so special!
