Amazing Hotel, Good Dining options. Awesome service. Every thing perfect. Front Desk team, valet team. Concierge all went over and above to make our trip a memorable one. Special thanks to Kevin in valet, Eden. Julie, and one sweet Asian lady, sorry couldn't remember her name, from Breakfast service were awesome and professional. At fro t desk, Marven and other colleague was great too... Overall a must stay Hotel

This hotel has a sense of historical weight but TOO OLD

Adventure65331532201 (Regina, Canada) on Aug 24, 2024

I have an overall positive impression of Fairmont, as historically significant hotels are rare gems. However, the one in Calgary feels somewhat dated. Upon entering the lobby, the dim lighting left me feeling uncomfortable. I understand that due to the sheer size of the space, the light disperses too widely. I would suggest installing a few spotlights above the reception area, which could create a striking first impression, much like the front desk at Fairmont Royal York. In summary, the lobby feels too vast, and the lighting too dim, creating an overly empty and gloomy atmosphere. Too few exquisite desserts!

Slow lackluster service

FarS16 (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) on Aug 22, 2024

Not a five star experience and definitely not worth the price. We arrived at 2 and the counter told us the room is not ready and checkin time is 3, they took down my number but after an hour and a half past three and without a call from their end I called the hotel to ask about the update of the room. The lady said the room is still not ready but can come now, so we did and saw our luggage’s are still out in the lobby although they had said it will be brought up to the room. Because we were staying for one night they gave us a railway track facing window and the room looked more like a student dorm. We were tired from the slow service already so didn’t bother to ask them to change room. Later we noticed there are no teabags and requested the same on the phone. Next morning we asked for milk and 2 teaspoons, was shocked that the lady is asking me how many milk sachets I need , considering it’s fairmont I would expect they can hand in a few considering there are 2 people staying in the room. The lady took an hour to come to the room after a follow up call and that too with a tiny pitcher of a milk which was strange and she said they were out of milk sachets that’s why. Either way I think it was not a memorable one night stay, glad I didn’t spend more time here.

Exceptional!

Elaine M (Toronto, Canada) on Aug 22, 2024

Beautiful historic hotel. Very well renovated to offer all the comforts expected of a modern luxury hotel. Staff were consistently attentive, thoughtful and kind, providing an exceptional level of customer service. Rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Lobby, bar and restaurant were all lovely in terms of decor, comfort and ambience. Breakfast was excellent. We love the Fairmont brand and are loyal customers, and very much enjoyed this stay/hotel. We will be back soon.

Pleasant night of stay. Valet parking is the way to go. Public parking is a hassle.

A lot of history in the building. Good service with friendly staff. High ceiling is a nice surprise. Rooms are air conditioned and washroom is clean. Had a night cap before bed. Good selection of fine wine although the price tag could be a little steep. Good place for a special occasion.
