I booked this hotel due to the proximity to the airport - we arrived in Calgary just before 11pm and were headed to Banff the following morning. The hotel has a free shuttle from the airport and I called when we arrived - they sent the driver to come get us at the airport and he arrived in 9 minutes! He was welcoming and polite. When we got to the hotel and checked in, both the driver and a restaurant employee asked us if we wanted any food (they were about to close). We didn’t, but I was impressed they asked if we needed anything before they closed for the night. The front desk employee was also welcoming and polite. We had a great first impression of Canada based on the interactions with all the employees of this hotel! We found our room to be clean, the beds comfortable and it was quiet so we got a good nights rest. There was a free breakfast in the morning with several different choices of things to eat. We felt this was a perfect hotel to stay at if you are looking for an airport location. We appreciate the warm welcome to Canada!

Front desk was completely incompetent, rude, tried to rip me off on price and availability, luckily I double checked online and got proper price and correct information that room was available. Front desk locked me out of my room on 2nd night made my family wait over half hour in hallway for room that I had already paid for, cancelling room cards .. took multiple payments on my credit card and when I asked for a print out of charges they refused until check out, then only printed one night out of two so have to check all credit card statements to make sure I wasn’t overcharged as the front desk did try twice to overcharge me. Food came out with half the ingredients missing. Paid full price and couldn’t fix because kitchen ran out of ingredients. Shuttle is the worst experience as the driver will refuse to help u with bags and forced my 80 year old mother to load all our families bags then kicked her off while I was retrieving the rest of bags. Shuttle booked at 6:30 and at 6:34 , 4 minutes after we had the shuttle booked for the driver threw off all our bags even though our family was all there waiting to get last two bags on and get to airport. Not sure what kind of decent person allows a 80 year old women to load heavy luggage much less a person whose job it is. I am disgusted with this hotel and will never rebook with Hyatt again. Rooms where clean and nice, room attendants were the only people working here who could do their job

Close proximity to the airport and the main highways a big plus; breakfast could use some variety and not the same everyday; put some milk on the scrambled eggs; didn't see the luggage rack in our room; even with notice to not disturb on the door, cleaning lady still came in and change the linens and towels.

They clean rooms every third day (I was told) and the "hot breakfast" was sad. Vegetarians, consider bringing your own breakfast.

My first time in Calgary and Hyatt Place did not disappoint. Location is great.Exceptional customer service. Most of all, I love how pet friendly Hyatt place is.Will definitely be back.
