No hot water in our building since we arrived yesterday. Taking cold showers was not on my list of fun vacation activities. I am not impressed with the condition of the resort and the lack of response to the cold water situation. It’s raining everyday and we’re forced to take cold showers. It’s not a pleasant experience.

First time staying at Grand Park Royal Cozumel. The check-in experience took an exceptionally long time. Luck of the draw? The food was disappointing. Even the breakfast. We eventually left the resort and found better food nearby. The room layout was ok, except for the bathroom. Poor lighting and the way the door opened into the toilet/shower area was odd, inconvenient. Otherwise the room was pretty average. We will not stay here again.

Great food and cleanliness (staff is obsessed with cleaning ??). Rooms are a little outdated and it looks like the hotel needs plumbing repairs and some tiles replacement in rooms.

The beds were comfortable, not too firm. They provide toiletries which was convenient. It wasn’t the easiest to walk around outside. It wasn’t a smooth walking area, had rocks instead. Definitely would be hard if you have mobility or balance issues. The shows varied. Some were good and others were left. They had a board that showed the weekly activities which was nice but didn’t show where they were located. It was annoying with the timeshare salespeople bugging you every time they saw you. I just wanted to spend time with my son. Not much to do when it’s raining, which one day it rained non stop. The beach is across the street but easy to get to. They state there’s 2 jacuzzis. They are just like a smaller pool with seats. They aren’t heated and don’t have jets. There’s plenty of chairs at the beach and pool areas. Bars with snacks close early so you have to go to the restaurants or order room service. The restaurant claim guys have to wear pants and nice shirt. There were guys in shorts and t shirts. Didn’t bother us but my son had to buy nicer clothes thinking he had to wear them. The hotel either needs to remove that from the description or enforce the policy.

I was very disappointed with our overall stay. The resort is clean and have friendly staff. I have no complaints there at all. But honestly the food was very below average. Specifically the snack bars and buffet. The only time you could eat at the other three restaurants were for supper and that was if you made a reservation or got there right when they opened. The toilet in our room backed up twice. For two day we had not hot water. The air conditioning in the room never got cool most of the time it was cooler outside that it was in our room. Needless to say we will not be going back for any future stays.
