Booking The Outrigger At Last
Leopold A (Modesto, California) on Dec 28, 2024
Even though this Outrigger has been here for decades, we finally booked rooms for ourselves, our sons and their spouses during the Christmas week. Making reservations three months ahead for a large group is a must. Rates per night are costly as expected, but the hotel satisfied all our requests. Take note that the beach in front of the hotel is public. If you want to reserve an umbrella and chairs from the private company that is there on the beach, be there before 7:00 in the morning (which is no problem for (Easterners wide awake). Pay for several hours or book for $100 for you and your guests to enjoy the whole day. Hotel check-in and check-out are ideal, conveniently done at desk stations. Grace and Meeks were wonderful. We had gorgeous ocean view rooms, spacious and well-appointed and with a balcony. Many eateries and shops are located in the lobby. Coin-operated washers and dryers are available. The valet parking was the best, in and out fast! Jeff was our favorite valet there. Seriously consider the Outrigger if you want the Waikiki experience.
Fantastic housekeeping

We enjoyed our stay at the Outrigger. Although the rooms need some updating, the housekeeping service made up for it. Our housekeeper, Brenda, was very accommodating to whatever request we needed. She even remembered our names and always greeted us with a cheerful smile.
DO NOT STAY HERE
NoraUrbonavi (Lafayette, California) on Dec 27, 2024
Because of the construction noise on that side of the hotel, we requested to change rooms, When I spoke to the people at the front desk, they told me that to have a quieter room, we had to upgrade and pay an extra $100 a night, which we did not agree to. They changed us to a partial ocean view room on the 12th floor, on the side of the Cheesecake Factory restaurant, and the noise from the roof vents was quite disturbing and it was 24/7. We could not sit on the balcony to enjoy a moment. Inside the room, we could still hear EVERYTHING from outside at all times; furthermore, the banging from the floor above was super loud. The beds were the worst, they were soft and old. The rooms are noisy, outdated, and filthy. The Duke's restaurant is always chaotic and nothing special. The hotel does not offer chairs at the beach, you will have to rent them - 2 chairs for $100 a day or $18 an hour. The pool area is cramped. The only good thing here is the location and the beach, but it's not worth it (unfortunately, this site doesn't let me upload my videos).
Prime beach access but hotel makeover is needed
Indotraveller_10 (Vancouver Island, Canada) on Dec 22, 2024
While convenience to beach access makes the hotel a prime location, the hotel is dated and worn down, carpets in lobby and rooms look extremely worn, hotel elevators are extremely slow, your baggage storage is out in the open so not that secure if your room isn’t ready, balcony and railings are dirty. This would be a prime candidate for a hotel makeover tv show with so much to modernize
