Awful service!

I want to start by saying I have been to many resorts in Jamaica ranging from 3-5 stars and this is the only one I feel the need to write a review. I would NEVER come back here. I booked a room for 3 people and upon entering the room we notice right away that there are only 2 bath towels, a light sheet on the beds and the floor had not been cleaned. We received more towels the next day after being told to hide the ones we were given so the maid won’t take them and leave us extra. We also received extra blankets the second day of our vacation. They say there are 2 a la carte. One at Cornwall Beach and one at Montego. They fail to mention that only 12 people from the opposite hotel you are in are allowed at the a la carte per day. 12!!! So if you are at Cornwall Beach they only take 12 people for the a la carte at Montego. They start to run out of food about an hour into service as well as utensils. The Buffett is very limited with very little choice. There is a snack place that you can get burgers and fries at but you must sit and be served. We waited for 35 minutes after being seated and finally left because no one served us. I used to say that there isn’t a bad place in Jamaica and you can have a great time no matter the star. I have been corrected. This place is awful and you should spend your money elsewhere!
A Good Experience at Cornwall Beach

Check-in was a breeze. There is always staff at the main reception desk ready to help. While checking in, I was asked if I wanted a drink and I was brought a Red Stripe beer in a can - a very nice welcome drink. Everything is explained at check-in and there are no additional fees or deposits to worry about except if you are unlucky enough to lose your hotel key or all-inclusive wristband. The hotel still uses the antiquated physical key system and will charge you $100 if you lose it. It is definitely time to upgrade to a key card system. The hotel is very nice. All rooms are oceanview. As with most resorts, you are not given a choice of bedding configuration and we ended up with two double beds and would have preferred a king. The property shares operations with Decameron Montego Bay. There is a lot of back and forth walking if you want to experience the amenities of both locations. The main entertainment is always at the Montego Bay location. Each property has a pre-show as well and the pre-shows at the Montego Bay location provide some really good entertainment such as singers and violinists. While there is your usual events board, it is never mentioned at which precise location the event takes place. Cornwall beach definitely has the nicer beach area. The Montego Bay location has the swim-up bar. You may not want to go there unless you like music blasting in your ear and the music is not pleasant. Despite the swim-up bar not being busy on the day we were there, the bar staff was engaged in some game with the patrons instead of paying attention to the few patrons looking to get a drink. I was not impressed with the entertainment staff. Despite events and games being posted, it is just a guess if they actually happen at the specified time or whether they happen at all. I am surprised that management does not seem to supervise the entertainment staff. The beach area is very nice and totally swimmable. You can also get a complimentary kayak rental. The Cornwall Beach hotel is overall nicer and newer than the Montego Bay sister property but then again you get a nice mixture between the two. The bar service at the lobby bar is much better at Montego Bay with a better selection of drinks. I would say that overall, you won't be disappointed with this property. There is a nice selection of buffet food at both properties. Each has its own a-la-carte restaurant. The Cornwall Beach a-la-carte restaurant doubles as the snack bar for burgers and such in the afternoon and late night. There is a disco for those still going strong after 11:00 pm and it is located at the far end of the Montego Beach property. The hotel is very close to the airport and definitely a good choice for a Montego Bay hotel.
