The next phase of renovation and modernization of the rooms will begin May 1 at Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana and Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro. These new rooms complement those renovated last year and will be available starting November 2024.
The renovation works will not interfere with the operation of the common areas and services of the rest of the resort.
Outline of work being done:
• Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana and Grand Bávaro: From May 1st until November 19th, over 400 Junior Suites will be renovated and converted into two new categories: 2 Bedroom Family Suites and Junior Suite Premium.
• Electric Train Route between the mangrove and the new La Isla area (located at Bahia Principe Grand Bávaro): The route will remain operational and will only experience modifications in its trajectory. It will move towards the sides of Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda and Bahia Principe Grand Bávaro, without interruption in service.
All work will be carried out daily (Monday to Sunday) between 8 am and 6 pm. Any work generating noise will be conducted only after 9 am.
Although some noise may be heard, all efforts will be made to minimize impact to guests during this time.

We went to the Grand Bahia in Jamaica and expected the same experience. Not even close. Couldn’t communicate with 90% of staff. Some that could communicate were rude because the facility was soooo rundown. You arrive to a giant white canopied check in area. Well it would be white were it not covered in bird droppings. The Restaurants were not worth signing up for and the buffet not much better. Like I said very very tired facility.
stay away from this one if you want a good experience and vacation

bad sewer smell at the buffet at all times; food was overcooked or cold (when supposed to be warm), flies walking on the food, only 1 utensil to pick up food out of 10 dishes, so people either wait or saw some picking food with hands so they do not wait. Specialty restaurants - food was mediocre and no taste to it , similar too the buffet, nothing special there. requests are answered after you ask at least 8-10 times. Cold water non-existent for almost a whole day, barely anyone speaks English, so big language barrier, and yes I know I am in a Spanish speaking country , but i do travel internationally all the time, and never had this issue with communication. the rooms are very very outdated and with tiles falling off, dirty, not accommodating at all. and the list with bad experiences can go on, but I will never visit any Bahia resorts anywhere just because of this one experience. Please read other people's reviews as all bad ones are true and I thought people were overreacting and decided to give it a chance, oh was I wrong not to listen! Ruined my family vacation!
