Stunning place, beach is beautiful and the room we were given was nice but in my opinion not worth the price. I booked for my partners birthday what I thought would be a luxury get away but it wasn’t that. We made the most of our stay and overall had a good time. The staff were friendly and helpful (other than the ones that offer you a “tour” of the hotel which ended up being an hour sit down sales pitch) However, the big downfall for me is that the food was a major let down and needs to be improved, you would expect the al a carte restaurants to be of a higher standard but sadly not, the chicken was undercooked ?? ordered room service night 1 after a long flight, was stone cold and the chicken nuggets were like rocks. I became very ill one day which I can only put down to something I had eaten. Such a shame as this could easily be a 5* with basic food improvements.

Just back from our 1 week stay. The resort is beautiful, the grounds are amazing and we found the room to be very good!l and clean! Unfortunately on my last night I got food poisoning , do not eat the salads or meat here. The meat was never cooked properly and the salads didn’t even seem to be washed properly either. We avoided the water and only used bottle water and still got sick, which I believe was from the chicken. The chicken was always undercooked. I didn’t let it ruin my stay though I managed to pull through it on my last day at the resort. The drinks were good! The pool bar staff were rude and never seemed to be happy serving us next to the behique. The only good service we got was in hemingways. The buffet service staff were terrible, only 1 morning out of 6 did someone ask did we want coffee. The buffet staff didn’t seem to like their jobs anyways especially in the behique buffet. Also we had lunch at posideon buffet, I asked the server for a glass of coke he told me no coke only beer then I watched him serve 6 glasses of coke to the table next to us, they pick and choose who they want to give good service to which is terrible. On my last night while I was very sick in the room I called down for water not once but twice! It was never delivered to my room, they came up and told me that there was no water but gave me beer instead?? The entertainment was good each night we enjoyed that. Overall it is a good resort, the buffet food needs to be changed it was the same food every day for lunch and dinner, the staff just don’t seem like they want to work but I found the staff at the lobby and the front desk to be the best staff at the resort!

I travelled to the Grand Palladium Punta Cana with friends and we stayed in the 3000 block building in a ground floor suite with 2 double bed and a pull out couch. Sound proofing in the room was really impressive and the staff were excellent at making up the rooms on request. The mattresses on the beds were really great by my standards. They were soft and yielding while also being firm and not saggy. However, the mattress on the pull out couch was not great. My friend who slept on it didn't have a pleasant time doing so. The back patio for the room gave a wonderful view of the impeccably manicured grounds and overall space in the unit was ample. I found the air conditioning kept the room perfectly cool and comfortable going down to a minimum of about 22C or 72F and the ceiling fan was a plus. The downside of the room was that the bath tub and the glass door that divided it from the bedroom had mildew issues that caused the entire room to constantly smell and that would be one factor to make me hesitate to consider returning. Hand soap was not provided at the bathroom sink so bring some with you. Be warned that if you're travelling with friends, the frosted glass shower door is very revealing and you'll know your friends much more intimately by the end of your stay. Overall I'd say the design for the bathrooms is flawed because of the glass doors. I found the pools, bars, nightlife, and restaurants to all be adequate. The food and drinks won't blow your mind but they're perfectly acceptable. Hemmingway Bar definitely had the best drinks. Service was hit and miss but mostly hit at bars, restaurants, and guest services. Most go the extra distance to be great and a few seem to hate their jobs and let it show. They're definitely nicer if you make the attempt to speak Spanish and if you're willing to tip (both of which I did). There were some language barrier issues here and there when I tried to speak English but I understand that as it's not an English speaking country and many tried their best. The beach and ocean were fantastic. The downside there is you will be approached pretty much constantly on the beach by people trying to sell excursions, overpriced bracelets, cigars, and photos with exotic animals. I found I wasn't bothered much when I was alone but it was never ending when I was with my female companions. I get that it's important for their bottom line to sell sell sell but I'd appreciate it so much more if they had booths set up that I can avoid or patronize as I choose rather than having the sellers meandering around and making it impossible to get an extended period of peace. My travel companions wanted to play in the casino and visit the spa but decided to do neither when they saw the exorbitant prices for those extras. So if you like to do those things, make sure to have a very generous travel budget. Overall I'd say visit this resort but keep your expectations in check and be prepared to deal with some mildew issues.

I would highly recommend this resort despite the bad reviews. I get that everyone has an opinion, but this place is wonderful. The grounds are immaculately maintained and are beautiful. While there are some food items that may be less appetizing than others, this is a small island that's is not the US or Europe so things are a little different than what most may be accustomed to however, there are plenty of options. It is next to impossible to not be able to find something you like. The staff were all very hospitable and we never seemed to want for anything. Be assured that this is not the Ritz Carlton or a super exclusive Resort, but it comes with a far lower price tag so I suggest adjusting your expectations accordingly. We can't wait to return and will probably bring the entire family next time.
