The service is very bad, old rooms. The drain is very bad in the shower and also the toilets. If you do not come early to get beach towels most likely you will not get one afterwards. The service received was not worth the money spent. The beach was beautiful but not enough chairs to accommodate for everyone. Overall would not recommend this hotel.

We have just returned from our 10 night stay at the Royalton bavaro. Overall a pleasant stay for the most part, however it is worth noting this more of a 4 star than a 5. When we arrived it didn’t fill us with much hope, as our first interaction was with one of the bellboys called Ismail, who repeatedly called my partner sexy. Bear in mind it was dark and this was a staff member who was showing us to our room!!! Not only did this make my partner extremely uncomfortable the thought that this could be a ‘normal interaction’ with female guests is just not ok. This wasn’t the first time that strange sexual comments and gestures were made by the male members of staff ( try going into the sports bar) the sports bar was a funny one, not a member of staff on site and then all of a sudden when females enter the bar it’s full to the brim of staff just staring. The room was spacious, we had a lovely view. Some maintenance work is needed, however, overall it was clean, decent sized and fairly modern. The food- the buffet food was actually decent however sometimes cold ( that is to be expected at buffets sometimes) I would not recommend the Italian at all apart from if you were to get just a pizza. The service is quite slow and the pastas have 0 flavour - not a crumb of garlic in sight. The hunters steak house is lovely but you have to be quick on getting a reservation - if you’re not diamond club I would book this on the app around 7am. The Tepanyaki restaurant was excellent, very entertaining, simple but tasty food. All the restaurants were ok however the Oceanside buffet for lunch was always fresh and good selection with a lovely view of the beach. If you want pizza for lunch from the Italian takeaway next to the grazie restaurant be prepared to wait between 45mins- 1 hour for 2 pizzas( even if you get there just before they open) the pizzas are good it’s just the wait that is off putting. The overall service of drinks was never an issue whether that meant going up to the bars or the staff coming over to you. The beach is beautiful and no seaweed, loungers do get taken very early however the infinity pool isn’t far away at all to just walk down. Overall it was a pleasant stay however due to the sexual comments and noises from lifeguards round the pool, this really affected our holiday. Management need to do better in educating their staff members on appropriate conduct with guests, as this was a repeated issue throughout our stay.
