José and Mirian are the best in the avenue bar!!!!! Every time we come they are very nice and happy to see us! Thank you!!! The beach is the best!!! The Italian restaurant is excellent! The juices by the beach are excellent too. Room service is great! Love the sea food in the buffet! The swimming pools are very clean!

Travelled 10 days to the Sandos Playacar select section , rooms are very old but clean , house keeping did an excellent job daily , same for having our fridge refilled , staff in general was great , but many had a hard time smiling , Food was very ordinary, in our gang of 6 , 4 of us were real sick , bad food , tourista , just bad , at the buffet , many people and kids using there hands to take their bread , fries , pizza , etc , sorry thats a no no. Not the cleanest of places . On the bus on the way back to the airport , eveyone on the bus were complaing about tourista as they all had it , The a la carte restaurants were just ok , couldnt get a hot plate , everything was just warm , however the Asiana restaurant was great , big thank you to Louis . The sports bar was good , Pedro and Leonardo were great , thank you to the both of them ????. But I have to tell you the biggest negative was trying to get change in Pesos , nobody wanted pesos , they wanted the usd , we brought over 3000 pesos for tips and souvenirs, so trying to change a simple 100 pesos to tip was impossible, front desk , lobby , servers , nobody wanted to change our pesos , sad All in all I would not recommend this hotel , for the same beach , I would suggest the Rius Travelled Nov 29 to Dec 9 2024

We stayed in the Adult section November 21-28, 2024. There were 12 ladies in our group. We were in Room 2234 and we were close to everything. The resort was well cared for. The flowers and foliage were beautiful. Beach - beautiful. ALL of the staff I met were wonderful. They wanted to ensure we were having a great time and it showed thru the service they provided. Guest Services staff near the Meeting Room were always friendly and lovely. We loved the memory ribbon section at the resort. I know some people complained about the staff but I DID NOT experience this at all and I felt bad for the staff when I witnessed this happening. If you treat all people with kindness, you get kindness back. :) Pool Bar: The staff (Miguel) made excellent Margarita's from scratch each time. Not too sweet - Perfect! Premium Club Bar: This was a great little place to go for drinks in real glasses. Dirty Martini's were so good. The snacks provided were fancy and yummy. Cupcake Cafe: the pastries were fabulous and the coffees were very good. Photo Pro: Victoria and Luca were excellent. Victoria captured some fabulous pictures of me and my Mom. She is great at her job! Luca was awesome taking our 12 ladies group picture. Massage/Spa: Valeria and Taylor provided very relaxing massages. They were so sweet and professional. We enjoyed our massages overlooking the beach and listening to the waves. We loved it so much, we went 2x. Pool Entertainment: Abril was FUN! The foam pool party was a lot of fun. The DJ rocked the house with great dance music. We did the pool aerobics - it was fun - not hard. Disco: We only went one night but it was super fun. The pool entertainment staff were there showing us some dance moves. We may or may not have had too many drinks. ;) Night Entertainment: The Mexican/Mayan night was FABULOUS! The Mexican Mariachi band was excellent. Elvis was awesome - felt like he was really there...LOL. The tributes were just ok. They seemed to use the same female singer each time. Elite Breakfast Buffet: The omelet lady was sweet and she made yummy 2 egg omelets. There were no kids in this buffet so that was nice. It was lovely, quiet place to eat breakfast and watch the local animals try to steal food while the staff try to shoo them away. There was so many Mexican Racoons. You could hear the birds and watch the ocean. It was lovely. We went there most mornings for breakfast. Festival Buffet: This was a busy buffet but the staff was great. There was always a huge selection of delicious foods to choose from. Too many to mention but there was nothing that I tasted that I didn't enjoy. The fresh juices were yummy. I always missed out on getting Pico de gallo. Beach Smoothie Hut: He made healthy smoothies/detox smoothies/antioxidant smoothies - great to have in the morning. Gourmex: the manager was very accommodating for us. Azteca soup was YUM! Alan came to our table and made guacamole - it was the best. I had the beef fajitas - they were hot & delicious. Il Piemonte: the manager made our night. I had the Carbonara - yum. Everyone else had the filet mignon once they received it but they were having issues with their grill so it was a long wait but we just got to enjoy more wine. The next time we visited the restaurant, we all received our meals at the same time and they were delicious. El Gaucho: The maitre d' was a sweetheart. I had the rib eye steak - it was huge - but I ate every yummy part of it. LOL. My Mom had the salmon and she enjoyed it very much. The banana/apple crepe for desert was light and tasty. Loved the wrist band that was your room key! You won't lose your room key. I would definitely go back to this resort.

Jose, Fernando, and Miriam were great servers !! They always made us the best drinks at the VIP lounge. They were always smiling and happy to make whatever cocktail we requested! ?? we made sure to stop by every day during our holiday, and we even learned some cocktail-mixing tips from them.??

First off book with redtag.ca big mistake. Transfer from airport to resort good with nexus. When arrived to check in took 3 hrs as we dident recive the hasenda we booked. Was told this was due to the third party agency ( redtag). We were able to make it work with 5 of us for the week. Food was very tasteless. Elacarts nothing special. The site is nice but big be prepared to walk. The beach and pools are great. As a first time hot vacation I would not recommend this resort as it's probably a 2 star as it's very dated and requires many upgrades on many levels. Please do your homework befor booking this resort. They accommodate the royal elite and adults only sections.
