New go-to getaway spot!!

Jensen K on Sep 23, 2024

We loved our stay here, they've got all the amenities you could possibly need and the rooms are super comfy and spacious. We had the most amazing harbour view, one of the best in the city for sure!! The best part in my opinion is the location, walking distance to everything. 11/10 experience!

Nice Upscale Special Hotel!

Steve B (Sun City Center, Florida) on Sep 12, 2024

We had an extremely enjoyable stay. The hotel overlooks the harbor and there is a beautiful view of the activities on the water....and at night the government building is lit up. You can walk from the hotel to the downtown area fairly easily. The rooms are in beautiful condition, nice wood floors, a beautiful walk in shower, nice desk area and the beds are comfortable. My one complaint and it is a big one is that the "Club Meal Package" has really gone downhill since last year. Last year there were some nice dinner items at the buffet, this time we were down to chicken fingers, breaded shrimp that were almost all breading, and mushroom balls that were 95% doughy stuff. You could find enough items for breakfast but that had also shrunk too. It was like a bait and switch, one year it was enjoyable, this year it was barely OK. Staff are very pleasant and friendly and it is a great hotel......I would have given 5 stars except the Club deal is a weak effort, kind of insulting.

With one change, it could be perfect

Ingle (Vancouver, Canada) on Sep 07, 2024

DH and I stayed 3 nights in beautiful Rm 510, king deluxe with water view, for one last summer getaway. We had not wanted to stay on the “other side” of the water, but everything on the harbour front side was booked. As it turns out, the location was ideal. A 5 minute walk takes you to the other side and all the activity, bustle, shops and restaurants you could want, while the quiet location on the seawall, and its views , make it an idyllic choice. Rooms have been refurbished in a palette of beiges, taupes, and browns, and the floor was not carpeted but wide plank wood in ash brown colour. The ambience and decor were contemporary. We loved the room. Apparently they are all the same (except for the suites) and the only distinction between them is the floor and the view. The bed was delicious, as is consistent with the Bonvoy brand, and the fridge, coffee and tea station, good lighting choices and AC, and convenient electrical outlets were all up to par. Two super comfortable high-backed arm chairs are placed by the window. We turned these around and relaxed in them while watching the never-ending choreography of bikers, walkers and runners, kids and dogs, ferry boats, float planes and bird life (even one seal) that makes the seawall and inner harbour so captivating. Highly recommend a water view, and the higher the floor, the better - see photos of Rm 510 and the view from the windows (which open! although just a smidge). Yes, the hotel is on a gorgeous sea wall, with a lovely big patio right there, and is perfect for walks any time of day. They also lend bikes (4 in total) for 2 hours at a time. We brought ours, which they kept secure for 2 days, while we kept them in our room for the third. Yes, they allow this! Finally, the club lounge opens out to a gorgeous furnished patio, with large tables, comfortable chairs, umbrellas and couches, and views over the water and to the inner harbour, Having breakfast, drinks, and relaxation out there was a highlight. There was one service mishap, and our shower fixture fell off and wasn’t replaced quickly, but these were minor inconveniences that did not affect our enjoyment of the place. What did affect our enjoyment - and is the reason for the 3 star rating - was the club lounge breakfast hours. On our first 2 days, weekdays, service ended at 9am, and on the weekend, it ended at 10am. Having stayed in literally scores of Bonvoy (and other) hotels and resorts the world over, breakfast nowhere has ended at 9am. The Delta appears to primarily be a vacation resort, so I don’t understand why vacationing guests would be compelled to get up, get dressed, and down to breakfast bleary-eyed by 8:45am. Their hours are all the more surprising given that the actual food items are simple, with little variety, ie, not hard to set up and take down. Moreover, the room rates suggest a higher service standard. This is a shortcoming that is completely within the control of the hotel to remedy; management only needs to have the will to do so. I hope they consider closing weekday mornings at 10-10:30am and weekends at 11am. I must end with a general shout out to the staff at the Delta. From reception and club lounge, to guest services and door staff, they are just the nicest, friendliest group of employees anywhere. If breakfast hours are extended, I would not hesitate to say at the Delta again and again. If they remain as is, my first choice will be elsewhere.

Rozina D on Sep 07, 2024

We went here to celebrate nlmy unckes 80th Birthday. There were 13 of us and we rented 7 Rooms... The staff was fabulous and the experience was great... Fernanda Masiero one of the Customer Service manager was amazing helping out via email on some details prior to arriving.. She helped with upgrading mu Uncke's room and ensuring we were all close together on the same floor.. She also was amazing in helping out with the Oarking charges... Gus who checked us in and helped throughout our stay was patient and amazing as well with our check in process as we uaed different credit cards on all the rooms so it was a bit of a process.. Thank you to all the staff there for making the trip so amazing and memorable. You cant beat this location and views from this Hotel.. You need yo definately check it out next time in Victoria.. Best stay in Vic.

Amy C on Sep 02, 2024

Thoroughly enjoy our time in Victoria when we stay at the delta. It’s central, close to the hustle and bustle, pleasant, friendly staff. Rooms are very clean and spacious. The views are great, and there are usually bikes to borrow for the day. Highly recommend for the price point compared to other hotels in the downtown area.
