Mi Cumpleanos in Hard Rock

I had a fabulous experience to celebrate my birthday trip. Daniela, braulio y Roberto all treated me so well. Daniela went out of her way and made me a hat. I was so appreciative of all they did. The entir...e staff was wonderful. The foods and drinks were awesome!

Very disappointed

My wife and I have been to this resort six times over the years. There are many features we love about it, so it was one of our favorites. That’s why I’m sorry to say that this may be our last trip to it, ...unless some changes are made, because it has degraded consistently and significantly from visit to visit. During this past visit I would give the resort three stars out of five, at best. But let me start with the Good: We are Hall of Fame Legendary members so, as such, have the services of a butler. It’s something I didn’t think I needed until I had it. This trip our butlers were Erika and Mauricio, and they were both phenomenal. I can’t thank them enough for all their help and attention. We also had the pleasure of meeting Elias, who is the head butler at the resort. He was also incredibly helpful and attentive. So, I will emphasize that my negative comments are NOT a reflection on them. I will say that the entire resort staff is excellent, but some always go above and beyond. This includes the staff at Faro, especially Maria the manager, hostesses Paola and Cinthia, and our waiters Paola and Francisco. We loved Frida, the Mexican restaurant in the family section. The food was great, as was the service. Thank you, Viridiana, Willy, and Flor. I also want to recognize Cesar, our waiter at the members-only beach. The Bad: The resort went from three adults-only restaurants to two, and one, Wai, was closed all week. That left one adults-only restaurant, alternating menus, one day Umo and one day Wai. It was so crowded, and apparently understaffed, that it took 40 minutes once we were seated before anyone came over to offer us drinks, including water. I got up and went to the bar, but that was not much better. There was one bartender making all the drinks for the restaurant and the people sitting at the bar. It took me over ten minutes to get a drink. One night we ate at Le Petite Cochon, which some time back was also adult-only, but no longer. It was crowded and very noisy. Even though we had reservations we had to wait over 20 minutes to be seated. Then once inside it took at least 10 minutes for our waiter to come over to take our drink and food order. Our drinks came fairly quickly, but 35 minutes went by before we even got bread at the table. When I said the place is degrading, I was not exaggerating. The members-only beach has at least two less umbrellas than the last time we went. It was not enough then, let alone now. Two of the ones left were broken where the fabric attaches to the frame, so the fabric would lift and not provide much cover. For what it costs to stay here, you’d think they could afford a few new beach umbrellas. While they’re at it, I would also recommend they invest on a few more small plastic tables. Two for the entire beach is clearly not enough.
