Another Great Stay at the Hilton Playa Del Carmen

This was our 8th time to the resort. We mainly keep coming back due to the entertainment activities with the pool staff and the gym staff. The entertainment staff has changed over the the 6 years we have been coming here, but they are all hard working and work to ensure the guests have a fantastic time. Zander and David did a great job with the Stretching classes. Deborah was very patient with me and assisted me with the keychain class. David had a 1:1 bracelet making class when the weather was rainy and the class was canceled when I expressed that I really wanted to learn to make the bracelet. Ulises did a great job refereeing the volleyball games and was very entertaining during the foam parties. Aaron and Roberto did a great job during the parties and during the volleyball games. Jose remembered my name after only hearing it one time. Zander made great Mexican bracelets. All the entertainment staff spoke great English and I never had an issue speaking with them and they understood what I was saying. The housekeeping did not understand very well and that was a bit annoying, I just wanted another roll of toliet paper and more wash cloths. The pool waiters were amazing, best service I have ever had around the pool, and we mainly stay around the pool for our stay. Daniel, Erik and Ezekiel were top notch!! Ezekiel was our waiter most of the time and I never needed to go up to the bar myself. Daniel went out of his way to find an answer to a question I had. The waiters at Asiana and Pelicanos were excellent. Ruben and Aldo at Pelicanos remembered us from last year. They brought us refills of our drinks quickly and always had a smile on their face. Leonardo and Ahmed at Asiana were fantastic. I can't say enough good things about them. They had our drinks filled quickly, brought me a spoon since I was drinking unsweet tea with Splenda. Made great recommendations about desserts and checked on us frequently. We went to Asiana 3 times in the 8 days we were there. Pedro at Ma Patrona was great! He brought us our drinks and food quickly. The one thing we were a bit disappointed with was the menus. They have not changed too much since we have been coming there for 6 years. We would appreciate a few more changes to the menus. The quality of food for Maria Patrona has go downhill compared to when it was Maria Marias. We only ate there once and it was because I wanted the frozen churro. Alan Gonzalez at the Honors check in desk was fantastic!! He remembered us from when he was with the entertainment staff. He checked us in last year when we returned and he was working the desk. He always was smiling and helped answer all my questions and promptly addressed any issues I had. It is great to have someone so attentive at the desk who is willing to answer questions and assist you with anything you need. We will definitely be back next year!

First time at this resort and I have to say I will go back! The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. Loved the Nespresso machine available - got to enjoy an early morning coffee on the balconey. The outdoor activity staff were amazing! Roberto, Carlos, Zander and the others made everyday so much fun!! Played pool volleyball every day and met so many people. Took advantage of room service and the food was great and arrived promptly. Also got a massage and got to use the hydrotherapy which was great. A few things though that were a little dissappointing was the lack of beach - had to go to the resort next door. Also didn't like that most of the poolside seating were cabanas that you had to pay extra for $109/day - I thought that was unfair being I ended up having to get a chair 4 rows back and had to look at chairs in front of me instead of seeing the pool. Should have just one section for cabanas. Also the time sharing staff were pretty aggressive when we first got there. Overall experience I would rate a 4.5 - Get rid of the cabanas and the time sharing staff and it can be a 5 star! Tina
