Overall, our stay at the Barcelo was fantastic. We've been here three times and we always have a great time. One small issue we encountered was the wait time at the pool bar. It would be nice if the staff could serve the adults at the pool more promptly to avoid long waits. Other than that, everything was wonderful and we look forward to coming back again.

Upon my arrival at, I was subjected to an unreasonably long check-in process that lasted over two hours. This delay was both inconvenient and frustrating, especially after a long journey. To make matters worse, when I finally received my room key, I discovered that the room assigned to me was not the one I had booked and on the 1st floor. Despite my reservation for a caribe room was given a maya beach room, I was given a different room without any explanation or apology. Was told "subject to availability. The lack of communication and the absence of a proper apology for the inconvenience caused were unacceptable. As a paying guest, I expect a certain standard of service and consideration, and this experience fell far short of those expectations. Lost the entire 1st evening waiting for a room, the latch on the patio door was broken, next day spent the next half waiting for room to be told to check out of current room and can locate another room that afternoon. 5 hours later a new room was available 4 buildings over. Was not offered for a bellhop to take bags was just told the new room information. Buffet hostess were very rude and some waiters can be hit or miss. They say all inclusive but they will nickel and dime you at every chance. Bowling is not free, Arcade is NOT free, Mini Golf not free. WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. They did however take ALL of the amount owed for the entire stay before I was ever even issued a room. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE your money here.

Beautiful beaches and pools. Loved it here, will be coming back in a couple months, can't wait!!!!!!

The Barcelo resort was hit by Hurricane Beryl days before our arrival. It was difficult to tell if the service and maintenance of the resort was due to the Hurricane. However, when we visited the Barcelo Palace resort, we discovered it was maintained well and the pool area was much cleaner than Caribe and Tropical.

Me and my family really enjoyed our stay!! This was the 4th time here at this resort and it gets better each time.. even tho the hurricane had just hit they made sure we had a spectacular time. Thank you so much to all the staff that took very good care of us.
