The staff is amazing. Very attentive. I want to give a shout out to the poolside staff… they work their butts off. I was very impressed. The grounds are beautiful. Everything is nice and clean. I will definitely be back. Thank you Villa Del Palmar Cancún. Beach was kept clean. My favorite restaurant was the Garza Steakhouse.

From the moment we landed, our senses were on high alert. We never fully relaxed due to being in Mexico and watching too many movies. But it was nice with a lot of beautiful scenery. The resort was done what secluded, but the jungle was directly across the street. The resort had an amazing secent in the lobby. The decor was very nice. It was peaceful and quiet on the beach. The restaurants were delightful and surprisingly delicious. The room was amazing and well kept.
Sexual Assault
Daydream00131345075 (Sacramento, California) on Oct 28, 2024
Very disappointed in this resort. Sexual assault took place while one of the ladies in my party was getting a massage. The worker at the resort still working at this facility. While it seems like a safe place. If going to this location don’t let your guard down or be alone. While they claim this doesn’t happen at their resorts. Do your research. Be safe and don’t plan a trip at this location.
Good Resort for Lounging/Relaxing for Families and Larger Groups

Family fall break trip for two adults and a 14 and 10 year old. We stayed in a three bedroom oceanfront residence on the fourth floor. What was truly great: the service from the butlers, staff around the VIP pool, housekeeping, and room service. Easily the most attentive, quick response, accommodating service we've experienced at any Cancun/Caribbean all-inclusive, and we've been to several. Everyone was prompt to act when requested. They met all of our needs and then some. They were all very friendly and hospitable. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we received nothing but the best service. Shout out to our butlers Otikio and Santiago, the VIP pool guys, and Edgar serving us drinks all week. What was good: - the Room itself. It was massive, for one, and could easily accommodate two couples and 4-6 kids, depending on their ages. The design could use an upgrade, but everything was spotless, everything worked, and there were none of the usual time-worn issues typical in resort rooms. We enjoyed the wrap-around balcony with great views. Our only real complaint is that one end of our balcony was right above a restaurant and a bunch of rooftop equipment. If you were on that far end of the balcony, it could be a little loud and there was a near constant smell of food cooking. 15 feet over, though, and you could hardly tell. - the Pools. We had access to the VIP pool area with reserved daybeds and loungers and that was nice. It's very much a low-key, adult-oriented area. Good for reading, getting a tan, and consuming way too many pina coladas. The main pools were very nice, though. Only rarely were they super crowded to the point that you couldn't find loungers to sit in. A lot more action in these pools with lots of kids, music, and more. Only speaking from observation, but it did appear like it was easier to just walk up to the bar rather than wait for a server at the main pools. - the Kids Club. Our daughter (10) loved it, and wanted to spend as much of her day there as she could. They made crafts, did face painting, watched movies, had fun excursions to other parts of the property, and even had a kids mixology class. It was always well staffed, and she found the staff to be very friendly. What was just okay: - the Restaurants. The restaurants were just so-so, with a few highlights at Blanca Blue (Mexican) and Hiroshi (Japanese). Even with the all-inclusive package, there were "premium" menu items that cost extra, and that list was more substantial than I expected. The pace of the meals was very slow even in less crowded restaurants. Most dinners lasted close to two hours. The service was good, otherwise, but it took some patience waiting on the next course or another drink. Our room level allowed us to go to the restaurants at Garza Blanca for dinners, which greatly increased the available variety. I'm not sure I would have been too pleased if we had been stuck going to the VDP restaurants alone. - the Food and Drinks. Overall just kind of "meh." Including room service. The breakfast buffet at Caprichos left a lot to be desired, and the room service menu is fairly limited in selection. We never had any issues with the preparation of our food or anything like that, but we also didn't eat any meals to write home about. The craft cocktails, too, were just okay. But if you're happy having a quesadilla and a margarita while sitting by the pool, then it's just fine. - the Aesthetics. The resort is due for a facelift. It's nice enough, ultra clean, and meticulously maintained. But it's just a bit dated. It felt very "big in 2004" if that makes sense. - the Spa. My wife had two different massage treatments during the week. She said it was just okay. She definitely didn't enjoy the "hydrotherapy" session at the beginning. She also was annoyed that her room was right near the lobby entrance and the designated smoking area. The bad: - Legends sports bar. Just don't go. At least not for dinner. Big "BW3 for Monday Night Football" vibes yet somehow worse. And it took forever. Easily our longest dinner, and that was with the staff bringing out one plate at a time. I.e. my son's appetizer only, then wait five minutes, then someone else's appetizer, then wait ten minutes, then something else, etc... Overall: The service we received was outstanding all week. As I said, it's easily the best service we've received at any of the several Cancun/Caribbean all-inclusives we've been to. It's nice, clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The resort could stand to be updated, and the food and drinks are not the draw here. I would have been annoyed if we were limited to only VDP restaurants and we didn't have the all-inclusive package and were paying for each item individually. This is definitely a good resort for people who enjoy hanging out at the pool/beach all day, and aren't concerned about high-end, Michelin star quality dining. Also a good resort for families with kids, particularly in the 6-12 age range. From appearances, it also looked like a good resort for large groups. There were always multi-family or several-couples groups sitting together at the pool and in the restaurants for dinner, without issue.
