Had a great stay at Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta. The private beach was amazing. Humberto from the playa collection was great and very knowledgeable, gave us great customer service. Great experience overall. Will definitely be coming back!
Thanks a lot

I leave very glad about the amazing service that the hotel give us. I want to leave a warm shot out to Sergio Zarate Gonzalez from Playa Collection who resolved a lot of things in our estance. Thanks for all the extra help and the abundance information. ¡Will come back!

This was 9 months in the making! Our family planned a big Thanksgiving family trip (20 of us). It took tons of planning and scheduling to get this done, so imagine our great disappointment when we realized the resort doesn’t really cater to large groups. Don’t go if you are traveling as a large group: We began months in advance contacting the hotel, first about adjoining rooms. After months of “talk to this person, or so and so will contact you”. Come to find out there are no adjoining rooms. The second item on our list was transportation. José Ramon Altamirando was quick to respond. The third item, was getting the hotel management to respond on getting reservations for at least the first night for a family dinner. We got the runaround for weeks being passed on from one person to another. Finally, we were told we needed to wait until we arrived to reserve a family dinner. Later we were told all the restaurants are first come first serve so we would not be able to have a dinner together. We heard from Beatriz Ulloa, Abner De La Cruz and finally from Susan Rubio, the restaurant manager. We were given the option to pay $30.00pp including the toddlers and we would still be served from the restaurant menu but would have two waiters. Every meal was a huge argument to try to get a table for even 8-10 of us together. On the third day we asked to speak to the manager she was very gracious; apologized and said she would reserve tables for us to have dinners together the rest of the week. As it was, the best that was done for us was the 5pm seating and 2-3 tables. We never did get a goup family dinner. Rooms: The rooms are dirty and old. The beds are comfortable but beware, if you want a king room with a pull-out sofa, there can only be 3 people per room. If you are a couple with two young children, you are out of luck! The glass patio doors, mirrors and glass shower doors were dirty when we arrived and were dirty all week. The rugs never got vacuumed you could see previous guests’ hair. Hotel is being remodeled: The entire main hotel is being remodeled, the fumes of paint and chemicals is toxic even in the rooms. The elevator could not run any slower, you are always waiting for one and they are tiny. There is only two in the main tower to the rooms. The walkways are being updated and painted and you are always waking around workers as they won’t move for you. Staff: We travel throughout Mexico because you will always encounter the nicest and friendliest staff. Not here, they are more eager to get a tip for nothing then they are about giving good service. Restaurants: Food is not spectacular in any of the restaurants but the positive is that no one in our group got sick. The service is slow and inattentive. The gym: Jorge the gym trainer is great! We attended his classes daily; he does good class programing even if the class titles don’t exactly match the workout. The gym does not appear clean mainly for the same reason the rooms do not look clean. He does maintain the equipment. Pools: They have several pools and all are small. The adult pool is so crowded you can't even walk through to get a seat. The bar pool is limited to adults only so it leaves tow other small pools that are very crowded. The walkways are packed with cabanas along the pools so there are no views to the beach unless of course you pay Overall, with so many other wonderful options, I would not choose to stay here ever again.
Not what I expect from Hyatt all inclusive

First off there was a room problem, claimed they couldn't give us the room we wanted. Club ocean front hot tub. After speaking the manager, somehow they found the room we wanted. Manager was very eager to please and very pleasant. Front desk personnel, not so much. Room was excellent, AC worked well, musty smell, which seems to be the norm everywhere in Mexico. Bed and pillows comfortable. Towels, washcloths and bath mats need an update. Many were thin and frayed and should be used for rags. 3 beers in refrigerator, sodas and a couple small samples of of booze. Resupplied daily with minimum, even if I left a note to leave more, they did not. Bottled water only available at certain places, none of the restaurants would give bottled water or at the beach. Service for food and drinks around the beach and pool areas was almost non-existent. Pool areas were shaded most of the day. If you want sun all day you have be on the sandy beach. No other options. Lounge chairs at the beach area were filthy dirty, sticky, stained, awful. I washed my own lounge every day. They were disgusting. And if there was a wedding (2 while we were there) the set up is on the beach. So they ask you to leave the only area that has sun all day because they need to set up. I am a paying customer too, why should I have to move? Beach was beautiful and clean but only a very small area to walk. Buffet was only available for breakfast and lunch; delicious and good, but no buffet in the evening. whats with that? I want to get in and out. That was one of the reasons I selected this hotel. Specialty restaurants were good but too long wait, too long for meal. Not enough help in all the restaurants. Most servers in all areas tried to do the best they could but it seemed shorted handed. No AC in restaurants, warm and sticky to try and enjoy a meal. Lastly, there is construction every where; noise, dirt, dust etc. and areas that were closed off. Of course they don't tell you any of that and you still pay a premium. I have been going to Mexico for almost 30 years and have stayed at many Hyatt properties. This was not a great experience for amount of money we spent. Not what I expected from Hyatt. They should be more fair about how they advertise and promote their properties. I likely will not be going back any time soon.
Would come again!

The rooms and resort are beautiful! I really enjoyed the breakfast and lunch stand by the pool. The dinner food was hit and miss! In December, we could see dolphins and whales from the beach. The staff were all very nice! I would recommend the spa as well :)
