Restaurant are impossible to get website not working. Got booked with wrong restaurant. Rooms are clean, cleaning ladies run in the morning to clean your room if you leave them a Tip. Staff at buffets are friendly. They make good latte in the evening. Place is under construction. Loud carts outside the door in the morning and night.
Great week at The Catalonia Riviera Maya

I’m writing this review 2 weeks after my return, previously in April of 2024 we stayed at the Catalonia Yucatan next door which pretty shares most of the amenities with the Catalonia Riviera Maya, we decided to stay at the Catalonia this trip. The staff at the Catalonia were all great, shout-out to Arturo at the Brisa Buffet, now that is a true professional who really enjoys his job, great service. We were upgraded to a renovated room after an incident in our original room. Guest services went above and beyond to take care of us, they also offered us a special meal at the Belove restaurant which was amazing, and lastly a basket of fruits and a small bottle of champagne. The beach was very clean this time no seaweed at all. No need to get up at 5 am to reserve a beach chairs. The only negative in my opinion is the lack of variety at the buffets, food is good but pretty repetitive, the a la cartes are very good. Also I would like to mention that they have volleyball on the beach between the beach chairs my wife was hit a few times with the ball, in my opinion that beach is to small to have a volleyball setup, although I would like to mention that 2 of the animators came to see us and apologized to my wife for the ball. Tha Catalonia Riviera Maya is situated in the Puertos Aventuras gated community, it has a nice marina, a dolphinarium, many shops and great restaurants, Shout out to Dolce Vita restaurant and The Italian Bakery, both amazing. This area is a 10 minute walk and great for an after dinner walk. All this to say I would return again.
