Please note the following refurbishment schedule of the Princess hotels in Mexico, Grand Sunset Princess and Grand Riviera Princess.
To facilitate the work, the refurbishment of the resorts will be carried out in two phases.
Work will commence in the first week of May 2025 at the Grand Sunset Princess, with phased renovations of common areas and restaurants, concluding by December 20, 2025.
Following this, and with the common areas and restaurants already renovated, the second phase will begin with refurbishments at the Grand Riviera Princess and Princess Family Club Riviera, scheduled for completion by April 30, 2026, ensuring all improvements are fully operational for Summer 2026.
The project includes a complete overhaul of all rooms, restaurants, and various common areas of the complex.
The work will be conducted to ensure there is no impact on service quality or guest comfort during these periods. Fortunately, due to the structural characteristics of the complex, guests will not be inconvenienced by the renovations.
Overview
The Grand Riviera Princess in Riviera Maya has one of the best beachfront locations in the area, allowing guests a comfortable and unique way of enjoying the fine sand and clear waters. This spacious resort offers something for the entire family from its incredible beach to eight pools to extensive dining options and spacious accommodations. Guests staying at the Grand Riviera Princess have full access to the neighboring Grand Sunset Princess.

We returned again to "Grand Riviera Princess" following being offered a "free upgrade certificate" after visiting resort a few years ago. From Asistente Operativo de concierge - Andrea. We both had a lovely time at this resort and received so many nice surprises from a free upgrade and preferential treatment with the help of our concierge. Booking restaurants and free room service in their Platinum at Grand Riviera. All the Mexician staff went out of their way to make our stay so much pleasure, we had 8 days of beautiful sunshine in between heavy rain during our 2 weeks stay in October. Some tornado's warnings in our area but flight both ways was fine no turbulence, and it missed Mexico on its way across Gulf of Mexico. Thankyou very much for everything. It was so good of Grand Riviera Princess to still honour our offer of "free upgrade certificate" 2 years after asking us to come back again. You would not get this from any other resort anywhere in the world.

You cannot duplicate the landscaping they spend a fortune. There’s no resorts in Playa that have landscaping like this place. The food is excellent. The rooms are dated, but they’re still fantastic. The saltwater pools are amazing. The people is great. They have 30 minute room service. You can go five star if you want, but you’re gonna pay three times as much and not get as good place.
